Really there could be no other contenders for the manager of the month - someone please put Barnet manager Mad Dog Martin Allen on a leash as you will get plenty this season - with unbeaten Bristol Rovers revovering from 16th to 6th in six unbeaten games

Bristol Rovers lost the first game in September at Braintree but then stepped on the gas so to speak with a 1-0 over Wrexham, a 3-2 thriller at Lincoln, home wins against Nuneaton (3-1) and Woking (2-0, a 1-0 at Southport then a 1-1 draw at Eastleigh with just 9 men still aboard the Pirates ship.

An outstanding month that saw Rovers go from the lower reaches to the play-off fringes.

On the announcement of the award Darrell said, “'I am delighted to receive the award, and would like to accept it on behalf of my players and backroom staff who have been outstanding, and who work very hard to help us win football matches. It's an honour, both for myself and the football club, and our magnificent supporters.”
The official awards panel said, “After a slow start to the season, during September, under the leadership of Darrell, they have secured five back to back wins and the team have now moved to within striking distance of the leaders.”
